Cutting through the clutter. I
think Picasso phrased it well when he said, “The fewer
the lines, the more important each line.” As a graphic
designer who embraces a minimalist approach, each graphic
component I employ must do its part. When I create and include
something in a design, it’s for a reason. And the reason
is to help communicate or reinforce a certain message. The
goal is to deliver that message in a unique manner. In the
industry we call it a concept. What it is, in fact, is your
message presented in a way to break through the clutter, be
seen, be understood and be remembered. After all, anything
less can be done by most everyone else.
